DCG to Co-Present at the 2014 CASBO Conference for School Business Officials

For the third year in a row, DCG will co-present a workshop at the Annual Conference & California School Business Expo held by California Association of School Business Officials (CASBO). On Saturday, April 5, 2014, DCG will join Marilyn Cleveland, Attorney at Law at DANNIS WOLIVER KELLEY and Suzanne Speck, Associate Vice President at School Services of California, Inc. in presenting a workshop on “21st Century Schools: The Role of the CBO”.

The official workshop description is:

Today we hear a lot about 21st century schools; but what exactly are they and what do school districts need to do to assure that these new environments actually result in enhanced student learning? Are we simply talking about structures and technology or is there more to it? Given the financial limitations imposed on California school districts, what is practical? What is possible? What is the role of the CBO in asking the right questions, building consensus, and developing a comprehensive facility master plan? Where are policy leaders headed in Sacramento in terms of the next statewide bond and the priorities related to funding? How do you develop a process plan? How should school districts work with other public entities such as cities, community college districts, park districts, etc.? Each participant will receive practical action items to begin putting what she/he has learned into motion.

CASBO, a nonprofit statewide professional association, is dedicated to promoting excellence and professionalism in all aspects of school business. For more information on CASBO and their annual conference, visit http://www.casbo.org.
