FREMONT, Calif. (December 3, 2008) – Dominic Dutra, President and CEO of Dutra Cerro Graden, Inc., a Bay Area-based commercial real estate and land development company, has been awarded the prestigious Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation by the CCIM Institute, one of the leading commercial real estate associations in the world.
Dutra is among a select group of commercial real estate professionals who earned the designation by passing the Institute’s Comprehensive Examination, the final element in the designation process. Dutra earned an impressive grade of 97.5% on the six-hour final exam.
The CCIM designation is awarded to commercial real estate professionals upon successful completion of a graduate-level education curriculum and presentation of a portfolio of qualifying industry experience. Dutra’s portfolio exceeded $28,000,000 in personal transactions. The curriculum addresses: financial analysis, market analysis, user decision analysis and investment analysis – the cornerstones of commercial investment real estate. CCIMs are recognized experts in commercial real estate brokerage, leasing, asset management, valuation and investment analysis.
For more than 20 years, Dutra has served the Bay Area in the areas of real estate and development. In 2005, Dutra partnered with Alan Cerro and Landis Graden to form Dutra-Cerro-Graden, a development company focused on improving cities by building “Communities of Value” as either the primary developer, or in partnership with others through its development consulting and commercial real estate services. In 2000, he was named President of Dutra Enterprises, Inc., a privately held development company primarily focused on the entitlement and development of residential and commercial land. He joined Dutra Realty Enterprises in 1989 and served as President from 1994 to 1999.
A long-time resident of Fremont, Dutra is a graduate of Santa Clara University where he earned a BS in Business Management and an MBA. A strong believer in serving the community, he served as a member of the Fremont City Council from 2002 to 2006.
The CCIM business network encompasses 1,000 markets throughout North America, Asia, Europe and the Caribbean. Of the estimated 150,000 commercial real estate practitioners in North America, less than 10,000 currently hold the CCIM designation. CCIM designees include professionals who work in brokerage, investment and development, the corporate environment, property management, appraisal and related segments of commercial real estate.
