DCG Real Estate Adopts Benefit Corporation Status

Commercial real estate firm commits to standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.

DUBLIN, CA (February 10, 2016) — DCG Strategoes today announced that it has officially adopted the Benefit Corporation designation, joining the growing global movement of companies that have pledged their commitment to operating in a manner that supports a positive impact on society and the environment.

“DCG was founded 10 years ago under a ‘Community-First’ premise — which for us has always meant that building value within our community, and achieving financial success, are not mutually exclusive ideals,” said Dominic D. Dutra, Chief Executive Officer of DCG. “We’ve always believed that working at DCG is about building something bigger than ourselves. The Benefit Corporation designation is a natural extension of our vision; that by optimizing opportunities and resources for our community-based clients, we can help create long-term gains that benefit and strengthen the communities we serve.”

The Benefit Corporation status was created as a response to the outpouring of companies who are rethinking how success is measured in the business world, seeking to be a force for good, and collectively striving for “shared and durable prosperity.” These two facets compel business owners to use the power of their corporate enterprise to solve social and environmental problems, while meeting higher standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.

Unlike traditional corporations, DCG and other Benefit Corporations measure and manage the impact of their decisions on its employees, customers, community and the environment with as much fervor as they manage and monitor profits.

“We’re thrilled to have been awarded this designation,” said Landis Graden, co-founder and President of DCG. “We eagerly undertook the Benefit Corporation process to ensure our firm’s operations, management practices, and governance were at the highest levels, and to place us in the best position possible to effect change to benefit our community, our environment, our stakeholders, and our clients. This recognition marks our continued investment and commitment to volunteerism, buying local, workplace diversity and the reduction of our environmental footprint.”
